Kian lama obrolan dua orang itu kian hangat saja. Dari tema yang mulanya ngalor-ngidul, si tukang cukur yang “abangan” itu membawa obrolan ke masalah seputar akidah.
“Kalau menurut saya, Tuhan itu tak benar-benar ada ,“ tukang cukur memulai.
“Lho kok bisa mengatakan seperti itu?” Zaid mengejar tanya.
“Ya lihat saja kehidupan ini Mas, banyak orang yang hidupnya nelangsa, penuh masalah, ribet semrawut, bahkan saking beratnya masalah itu ada yang sampai berani bunuh diri. Katanya Tuhan itu maha Pengasih yang bakal menolong setiap hambanya,. Nah buktinya mana?”
Hmm. Zaid terdiam. Dia tak langsung menjawab. Bukan lantaran tak mampu, tapi Zaid tengah mencari jawaban yang pas buat si tukang cukur. Dia teringat benar pesan Kiainya agar bisa menyampaikan setiap hal sesuai dengan nalar lawan bicaranya.
Hingga berapa lama, Zaid belum juga angkat bicara. Si tukang cukur hampir menyelesaikan tugasnya. Tiba-tiba Zaid melihat seorang tengah duduk di luar tempat cukur rambut. Tampang dan rambut orang itu begitu acak-acakan dan berantakan. Seberkas ide pun mengalir di kepala Zaid.
“ Nah Pak, kalau Anda mengatakan Tuhan itu tak ada, maka saya katakan tukang cukur itu tak ada.“
“ Lho, gimana sih, wong saya itu ada di sini,” tukang cukur tak mengerti
“Pokoknya, saya yakin kalau tukang cukur itu tak ada,“ Zaid ngeyel.
“Kalau tukang cukur itu ada, lha kok masih ada orang yang rambutnya berantakan,“ jawab Zaid sambil menunjuk seorang tak jauh dari tempat itu.
“Anda ini gimana sih, dia yang di sana itu maksudnya, kalau dia rambutnya berantakan, ya sebab tak mau datang ke tempat ini, coba kalau ke sini, pasti saya rapikan,“ sergah Tukang cukur.
“Nah, seperti itu juga pak, kalau ada orang yang ditumpuk masalah dan hidupnya begitu ribet, bukan lantaran Tuhan itu tak ada, tapi sebab si pemilik masalah itu tak mau datang menghadap Tuhannya, Allah.
Coba kalau datang, berserah diri, memohon ampun dan pertolongan, Allah pasti menolongnya,” jawab Zaid mantab.
Sang Tukang cukur pun terdiam seribu bahasa. Skak mat!*

“Kalau tukang cukur itu ada, lha kok masih ada orang yang rambutnya berantakan,“ jawab Zaid sambil menunjuk seorang tak jauh dari tempat itu.
“Anda ini gimana sih, dia yang di sana itu maksudnya, kalau dia rambutnya berantakan, ya sebab tak mau datang ke tempat ini, coba kalau ke sini, pasti saya rapikan,“ sergah Tukang cukur.
“Nah, seperti itu juga pak, kalau ada orang yang ditumpuk masalah dan hidupnya begitu ribet, bukan lantaran Tuhan itu tak ada, tapi sebab si pemilik masalah itu tak mau datang menghadap Tuhannya, Allah.
Coba kalau datang, berserah diri, memohon ampun dan pertolongan, Allah pasti menolongnya,” jawab Zaid mantab.
